Rachelle Knickerbocker, LPN
“I Love Being A Nurse! Once a nurse, always a nurse, even when I’m not working. I have so much compassion and love for others. God gave me these gifts of service and I am thankful EVERY day for the Blessings in my life. I’m Blessed to be part of PSHH.”
Rachelle was awarded “Nurse Of The Year” in 2015 and 2017 at Puget Sound Home Health.
Rachelle has always wanted to be a nurse, even as a little girl. She has an older and younger sister. When she was 15 years old, she volunteered as a candystriper at Mary Bridge Children’s hospital. She went to Tacoma Community College from 1991-1993, where she finished all my prerequisites. She worked as a CNA, until I graduated from nursing school in January 1997 from Clover Park Technical college.
“Our LPN class started with 50 students in the class and only 16 of us graduated. It was a 2 year program, crammed into 11 months. I Thank God and my family for getting through that year. I have worked in many facilities and hospitals since I became an LPN. In 1998-2001, I worked for Unlimited Med Staff relief, where I worked at multiple nursing homes, clinics, and hospitals. I have worked at Valley Medical Center, Highline Hospital, St. Frances Hospital, St. Clare, St. Joseph Hospital, Puget Sound Mental Health (used to be Puget Sound Hospital & does not exist any more), Western State Hospital, Allenmore Hospital, Tacoma General Hospital, Enumclaw General Hospital (now St. Elizabeth hsp.)…to name a few. In 2001, I accepted a permanent position at St.Joseph Hospital in the Rehab Dept. I worked there and floated all over the hospital for 10 years, until I left in Aug. 2012. I accepted a job here at Puget Sound Home Health in Sept. 2012 and have worked with this awesome work FAMILY since then.”
